yea as someone whos been on this site for like 6 years ive seen the panics before with people leaving thinking tumblrs gonna just utterly crumble, and i get theres a good likelihood tumblr will continue to exist, yes
but literally i have not ever seen it this bad, yeah shit of a similar scale like this has happened before but what i think ppl are failing to realize is this is the absolute final straw for a lot of people. and this ridiculous and absolutely ineffective restriction theyre putting will affect artists and sex workers livelihoods far more severely than any of their other bullshit policies that ARE STILL HERE ON THIS SITE that weve managed to work around
the difference is usually their other shit we’ve been able to work around, be it through changing our way of going about things or xkit. this i cannot imagine any way to work around any of this bullshit staff is trying to implement. none.
the reason people are freaking out and jumping ship is because this time its different, this time it will directly impact content creators and sex workers in a way that cant be worked around because it’s simply purging their fucking content, along with content that is incorrectly flagged. and for a lot of us its the last fucking straw, i’m done with this absolute shitheap of a website and i wish i’d left sooner and spared my childhood the experience of growing up on here
